Got Hair?
Tac Trims is the barbering business that I have pioneered on my own since my sophomore year in college. This page will show you my story and give you an inside look at some of my recurring clientele.
My Barbering Journey
My barbering began way back in the summer OF 2017 WHEN I met my LONGEST-STANDING client. I had wanted a haircut in the summer, but my mom was working and couldn’t drive me to the shop. So I took matters into my own hands and asked my dad for his old razor and scissors that he used to shave his head, he’s bald, and so my journey began as a butcherer my hair cutting the sides down and not touching the top. I would soon learn that cutting hair wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it was.
After that, I would go on to cut my own hair, and I still do to this day. Eventually, friends would begin to find out that I was a self-operating barber and during COVID-19 in 2020 I would perform my first true client haircut, which was surprisingly successful.

From then on I would do my own research and study techniques and strategies to go about cutting hair. For the most part, I was my own test dummy doing most of the trial runs on myself before I would have enough confidence to try that same technique on someone else.

My barber skills would really improve exponentially in my Sophomore year at James Madison University, where I would begin to cut hair 2-3 times a week to mostly fraternity brothers for $10. I would encourage brothers that “the firsts cut free” to elicit more clientele and overall more live repetitions in my barbering.

Now 2 years later I typically see 2 to 5 clients a week and have accumulated over $4,000 to date, I have created my own signature logo and t-shirts, as well as started my own Instagram.
